Advice for owners looking to train their dog in obedience/protection, etc. - be extremely careful and think through the meaning of what it means for your dog to be "boarded" by the trainer for an extended period of time. A lot of trainers offer to board your dog and train the dog for you. Unless you REALLY know and trust the trainer, walk way from such offers. There are many cases of dogs coming back to their owners after such boarding traumatized and broken psychologically. Maybe they will even come back "obedient" - but for the wrong reason - fear. Maybe we have some members in the community here who can share their experiences of having boarded their dog for training.
